About The Culture of a Company
Join us for a moderated conversation on the importance of a cultural foundation within organizations and how much the figure of a CEO has an influence upon that.
We are living in a constantly changing environment where disruptive ideas can lead to the creation of solutions, including new infrastructure which automates processes and opens opportunities for more efficiency and (hopefully) deeper human interaction.
As these processes often decrease our time spent on real human interaction, we must also face the challenge of understanding the importance of building social capital in addition to financial gain.In this turbulence, the question of the cultural foundation of a company is more and more essential.
More than anyone else, it is the CEO's behavior in both private and personal sphere which influences this process. In this panel we discuss how CEOs can establish a positive culture for their companies and build social capital to complement financial success.

Sacred Geometry
Join us in a journey from the single point, into the line, out to the plane, trough the third dimension and beyond... far beyond. Eventually returning to the point again.

Jeff Costa has been working as a therapist, educator, consultant and researcher in areas from sustainability to cosmology. He has almost 10 years of experience working to help individuals and projects improve their collective understanding, using methodologies related to the exploration of geometry. In nature, we find patterns, designs and structures from the most minuscule particles, to expressions of life discernible by human eyes, to the greater cosmos. These inevitably follow geometrical archetypes, which reveal to us the nature of each form and its vibrational resonances. They are also symbolic of the underlying metaphysical principle of the inseparable relationship of the part to the whole. It is this principle of oneness underlying all geometry that permeates the architecture of all form in its myriad diversity. This principle of interconnectedness, inseparability and union provides us with a continuous reminder of our relationship to the whole, a blueprint for the mind to the sacred foundation of all things created.

A waiting room, tables, chairs, reception. Forms, applications, questionnaires. You take a place, waiting for your turn. Your name is called and you are led to a different space. Behind the door is your interview partner. It may be an interviewer, your best friend, a trader, a dancer, an actor, maybe even yourself – you never know what to expect.
The Waiting Room opens space for encounters between strangers and it plays with the social rules of curiosity and interest, everyday behaviour and communication. You always come back to where you started: the waiting room, which itself becomes the space for mixing up the impressions and suspending the patterns.
For a complete experience of 'The Waiting Room' please be on time!

Audrey Chen
Audrey Chen closes the second day of Agora Collects with a performance driven by voice and cello. Her work delves deeply into a unique version of narrative and non-linear storytelling.

Audrey Chen is a Chinese-American musician who was born into a family of material scientists, doctors and engineers, outside of Chicago in 1976. Parting ways with the family convention, she turned to the cello at age 8 and voice at 11. After years of classical and conservatory training in both instruments, with a resulting specialization in early and new music. She parted ways again in 2003 to begin new negotiations with sound in order to discover a more individually honest aesthetic. Now, using the cello, voice and analog electronics, Chen’s work delves deeply into her own version of narrative and non-linear storytelling.  A large component of her music is improvised and her approach to this is extremely personal and visceral. Her playing explores the combination and layering of a homemade analog synthesizer, preparations and traditional and extended techniques in both the voice and cello. She works to join these elements into a singular ecstatic personal language.

The Performative Curatorial Studio
The Performative Curatorial Studio (DAY#10)’ is an on-going process which aims to create dialogue around collective practices and outcomes between artists and curators. For AGORA Collects, this ‘open studio’ will be the exploration of a series of real-time processes, events, performances, a Live Library, as well as an on/offline curatorial process, all exploring the ‘performative of the curatorial’ and collaborative practices in relation to curating.

This project is created in collaboration with guest curator Judith Lavagna, and TWIMC curatorial collective member, Lara Merrington. The Performative Curatorial Studio aim is to share with the public a collective curatorial process that usually happens behind closed doors. We invite visitors to insert themselves in this context, in a transparent dialogue on collaborative curating, to question how to perform the curatorial, by practicing and enacting it in an experimental real-time study.

Urban Gardening And it’s Future Possibilities
On Sunday 23rd June from 14:00-15:30 Agora Collects presents a moderated, open discussion with five experienced professionals concerning global and local challenges to sustainable urban development.

Five Berlin-based individuals coming from the worlds of community building, urban gardening, activism, art, technology and internet commerce will share with us their different perspectives on progress made during the current decade, which the United Nations has dubbed “The Decade for Sustainable Education and Development”.

This multi-faceted discussion will be an opportunity to explore the diverse, progressive environment here in Berlin as well as discuss ways in which we can all collaborate on positive, productive strategies for spreading awareness to those around us in a time of increasingly inconvenient truths.

The talk will be moderated by Travis Wood and held between him; Fernanda Trevellin; the artist presenting 'Sky Water', Ricardo Kramer; the founder of Biokutsche, Aino Stratemann from 'Stadt Macht Satt' and Florian Raffel from 'Prinzessinengarten.

I am Aino Stratemann and my sector is growing crop plants in the city, developing concepts for vertical gardening in public space. It´s less self sustainable crop growing, than bringing back consciousness about the relation between producing and consuming food.

The Coalition of Independent Arts
Berlin is at a crossroad and culture will play a key role in the cityʼs future.

Therefore we need a change in cultural policy.

The Coalition of Independent Arts gathers all artists and initiatives working in freelance structures in the fields of art in the city of Berlin. No matter what genre or format everybody is working in, we collaborate for a strengthening and higher financial support for independent art production. The claims are adressed to the Berlin Senate and all decicion makers of the city and include raising the budget of funding, a different approach to public real estate, a minimum wage for producing artists, transparancy and solidarity among institutional facilities and independent artists. The Independent Scene Coalition has collated ideas and suggestions for a new cultural policy that different networks, initiatives, groups and individuals have developed.
